ISTR Conference on Volunteering

In both his Skillshare role and as President of Forum, Cliff Allum attended the International Society for Third-Sector Research (ISTR) conference on “The Third Sector and Sustainable Social Change: New Frontiers for Research” in Barcelona July 9th -12th. This was a major internationally focused conference, bringing together academic researchers and practitioners on all aspects of third sector activity.

Cliff was invited to join Peter Devereaux (Murdoch University, Perth), Benjamin Lough (CSD University of Washington in St Louis, USA) and Caspar Merkle (UNV) to run a joint panel on international volunteering, which was well received. Cliff submitted a paper on New Models in International Volunteering, while other papers focused on the experiences of volunteers and their impact/contribution.
