Call for Consultants to Develop a Challenge Paper on Youth Volunteering (IVCO 2023 Conference Framing Paper)

The International Forum for Volunteering in Development (Forum) and the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE) are seeking to engage a consultant or consultants to develop a Challenge Paper on Youth Volunteering. This will be the main framing paper for the IVCO 2023 conference, and will also form part of IAVE’s series on youth volunteering.

IVCO 2023, with its captivating theme ‘A New Generation of Volunteers as Changemakers’ is set to become an important platform for exploring the power of youth volunteering. The conference will be hosted by Forum and YSS in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from the 22nd to the 26th of October. Throughout 2023, IAVE is also hosting a series of webinars informed by Challenge Papers, where key issues impacting young people today will be addressed.

The Challenge Paper will play a pivotal role for IVCO 2023 – offering essential context, delving into three key questions, and most importantly inspiring innovative thinking and prompting action among volunteer-involving organisations when we meet in Kuala Lumpur in October.

The questions to be addressed in the Challenge Paper are:

  • How are young people volunteering, and how do they want to volunteer?
  • How can organisations develop programmes that are truly youth-led?
  • How can we create a more conducive enabling environment for youth volunteering?

We encourage you to consider applying or forward this opportunity to interested consultants.
