AVI CEO, Paul Bird, assumes the role of Forum Chair

We are very proud to announce AVI CEO Paul Bird assumed the role of Chair of International Forum for Volunteering in Development (Forum) at last month’s International Volunteer Co-operation Organisations (IVCO) conference in Montreal, a position he will hold for the next two years.

Forum is the leading global network for volunteering for development; a network by the members for the members. Over the next two years, Forum will ensure its relevancy by growing its membership – especially Global South organisations – and do more to support members by promoting increased connection and collaboration. This will include the launch of a new online platform, a new annual member data survey and practice guidelines.

Paul takes over the position of Chair from Chris Eaton, Executive Director of World University Service of Canada (WUSC-EUMC).

Stay tuned as we bring you updates of Paul’s activities steering this critical global movement of organisations driving volunteering for development into the future.
