Australian Red Cross (ARC)
Australian Red Cross (ARC) partners with many other Red Cross/Red Crescent National Societies around the world. They work together to promote safer, healthier and more sustainable lives for people in developing countries, particularly in the Asia Pacific region.
Placing people at the heart of their work, ARC help to build resilient communities by strengthening National Society partners in their planning for effective disaster preparedness, and in their response and early recovery capacity. ARC are also increasing their commitment to health programming (including water, sanitation, community health and HIV) in the Asia Pacific region.
ARC are a partner in the Australian Volunteers for International Development program, an Australian Government, AusAID initiative. Through this program, ARC send skilled Australian volunteers to support the work of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and their partners in Asia, Africa and the Pacific.
ARC currently works in: Mongolia, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, East Timor and has nine volunteers in the field.
