DCI continues to refocus its work in international volunteering. Following the absorption of APSO in to the DCI structure, 2004 saw the launch of Volunteer 21, which seeks to support innovative approaches to international volunteering. DCI held a major launch conference in 2004 and a report is now available. Several of FORUM’s members were represented at the event. During his presentation on international volunteering in Europe, FORUM President Cliff Allum said: “On the question of international volunteering in a globalised world, there undoubtedly is a role, since solidarity and understanding across communities and nation states is even more vital than ever.” Copies of the report are available from www.dci.gov.ie
