The EU has commissioned studies on two initiatives: European Civil Peace Corps (ECPC) and European Volunteer Humanitarian Aid Corps. At the European conference on international volunteering in September 2005, consultants on the EVHAC and ECPC initiatives outlined the current studies. In April 2006, Jonathan Potter (EVHAC consultant) explained “the EVHAC report has been initially considered by ECHO and is now having the final rewritings done to it by the team.” The ECPC study report has been submitted to EuropeAid. Knud Vilby (ECPC consultant) said “it would be useful to have the report out in discussions both in the civil society and among the parliamentarians who originally requested it.” Click here for the terms of reference and the ECPC report.
