International Volunteer Day – 5 December 2009
Volunteering for our planet
Out climate is changing and will affect us all. Temperatures are rising and this may bring natural disasters such as storms, flooding, droughts and wildfires. It will hit the most vulnerable the hardest.
International Volunteer Day, 5 December, falls hours before the start of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (7-18 December). It is the world’s best chance to seal a deal on climate change.
So this year, ahead of International Volunteer Day, the United Nations Volunteer (UNV) program is urging everybody to volunteer for our planet.
