The United Nations Population Fund recently released a report titled “Growing up Urban” that calls attention to the upcoming largest wave of urbanisation. As the report outlines, the projected unprecedented urban growth in developing countries presents an opportunity to enhance development and promote sustainability or an opportunity to deepen poverty and accelerate environmental degradation.
