Profile: International Service is an international development charity working in Latin America, West Africa and the Middle East working with some of the world's most vulnerable communities, supporting them in practical ways to combat poverty and oppression.
Human rights are at the heart of what they do, believing that being denied basic rights is what keeps people in poverty.
The goal of International Service is to help people understand and exercise their rights so they can change or guide their lives for the better. International Service work with the most disadvantaged groups, in particular people with disabilities, women and children, who are most in need of support and solidarity.

The mission of International Service is to combat poverty and oppression - by recruiting experienced professionals to become Development Workers to share their skills and work with overseas partners. Through long-term projects, International Service focus on building the skills and capacities of organisations that represent the poorest people.
Working with partners, International Service's work is focused in three priority areas: sustainable livelihoods, human rights, and sexual and reproductive health. And while they work with the most disadvantaged groups, their experience acknowledges that disabled people, children, and women are most in need of support and solidarity.
